Do you typically feel melancholy around the holidays, a missing loved one, or thinking about a lack of love or companionship?
Do you like to call folks at the top of the new year and re-connect? You might not want to wait until then.
Do you scroll through posts and tell yourself, "I gotta call her soon" or "I need to hit him up and check and see how s/he's doing?", and then months go by without meaningful contact?
 
 
Chronic loneliness is a real problem for thousands of us-- more than a personal problem. As of 2012, more than 1/4 of U.S. households are one-person households. While there's nothing wrong with living alone, the consequences of inadequate personal connections are a serious public health problem, as my guest Dr. J. W.
